1978 Merritt 44 Sportfish

SEA BOOTS is hull #30 and just received over $130k in updates, including frameless windows. She was repowered in 2020 with Cummins Recon 8.3CTA and cruises at 24 knots with an economical fuel burn at 30gph. She feels like a much larger boat compared to todays 44′ sportfish. She sleeps 4 guests in 2 staterooms, has a large salon with a sofa, dinette and galley up, large cockpit with a live well, freezer, drink box, new rocket launcher and make-shift mezzanine seating. Salon and Galley:

This beautiful classic 44' Merritt just had a 5 month boatyard/refit. Her salon windows were removed, interior wood sanded to bare skin, all furniture was restored, new carpet, cushions, fabric, countertops, headliner, LED lighting, A/C systems cleaned and new ducts, new mattress, wood furniture all resealed, and more. Sea Boots has a U-Shaped galley up forward in the salon, great for entertaining. In addition, there is a large sofa starboard, dinette that seats four, Merritt’s stainless fridge and freezer.

Port side is the crossover stateroom, en-suite head and forward is the VIP bunk stateroom.

  • Bottom of valances rebuilt with new wood, stained, and satin finish applied.
  • All headliner pulled down. New Lumiron LED color recessed lights installed in headliner with new control box
  • All interior salon wood on bulkhead and side salon panels stripped to bare wood, stained, satin finish applied.
  • Lower panels in aft salon removed and all ducts, and older wood areas were sealed with epoxy and new wood panels were installed, stained and satin finish applied
  • Aft electrical switch panel rewired and refabricated with dual pop-up outlet, USB charging station, and switches that operate deck overhang LED lights, salon lights with dimmer switch behind dinette bulkhead
  • Electrical breaker panel open and all circuits tested and labelled
  • Old counter tops removed, counters sanded, leveled and custom mocha veneer countertops installed
  • Sink and faucet removed. New stainless galley sink and faucet installed

  • CruisAir 16,000 BTU unit under galley sink (new 2020) 2nd unit in pump room with control panel in companionway closet.

  • New countertops on stateroom vanities. Removed round sink in forward stateroom and capped. New shelves.
  • New carpet (with binding) throughout the boat with padding
