1987 Topaz 29 Express Sportfish

The Topaz 29 was a popular boat in the 1980s thanks to an impressive combination of rugged construction, a maximum emphasis on cockpit space, and single-minded devotion to fishability. The relatively wide bow section of the Topaz increases forward, which means the bow stays up in a head sea.

The cabin accommodations are simple and straightforward with upper and lower berths forward that sleep three, an enclosed head and a compact galley with sink and refrigerator/freezer.

Like all Topaz models, the 29’s bi-level cockpit dominates the layout and measures about half of the boat’s overall length.

The engines are located beneath the bridge deck, and there’s room for a full-size marlin chair in the aft cockpit where a large insulated removable fish box is built into the sole.
