Vilano Boatworks, a custom Sportfish builder based out of St. Augustine, Florida, is bringing something new to the boating world in the form of a new 65′ Sportfish. According to Founding Partners Mark Lacovara and Phillip Mahn, Vilano Boatworks is “positioned to launch a brand and legacy of a top tier boat builder. We are focused on innovation, quality and performance. We have assembled a team of industry professionals, with talents in many areas.”
Vilano Boatworks brings to the table new and original designs by in-house naval architect Erwin Gerards. Builds will feature Caterpillar engines in all models.
Vilano hull Nos. 1 and 2 will feature the all-new 2,400 hp Caterpillar C32B engines and will be outfitted with gyrostabilizers, omnidirectional sonar, and a full tower.
The first build, a fully loaded 65’ will displace approximately 90,000 pounds, and draft 5 feet, 5 inches with shallow prop pockets. Fuel capacity is 2,100 gallons. The builder anticipates a cruising speed of more than 40 knots and a top end approaching 50 knots. The Vilano Boatworks 65’ is expected to hit the water in May 2022.
In total, five boats (55’, 60’, 65’, 69’, 74’) have been and approved and in various stages of development.
The 65′ Vilano Sportfish is a 4 stateroom, 3 head layout, complete with the Caterpillar engine package, and can be customized to meet any owner’s specifications.
The goal at Vilano is to build the best quality riding boat on the water today.
